Supporting Youth and Building Lions’ Future

Leo clubs give young people the opportunity to lead their own community projects while receiving encouragement and support from a sponsoring Lions club. Members develop leadership, organisation, teamwork and communication skills as they identify local needs, plan activities and take practical action. Leos are not simply helpers to Lions; they are young service leaders in their own right, bringing creativity and enthusiasm to their communities and helping to shape the future of the wider Lions movement

The Lions Young Leaders in Service Award recognises young people who dedicate their time to helping others and encourages community service to become a lifelong habit. Participants record voluntary work completed through schools, youth groups, charities, environmental projects or support for vulnerable people, with their service confirmed by a responsible adult. By recognising commitment and achievement, the programme helps young people appreciate the value of volunteering while developing responsibility, empathy and leadership experience

The Lions International Peace Poster Contest invites children aged 11 to 13 to express their personal vision of peace through art. Local Lions clubs work with schools and organised youth groups to encourage creativity, reflection and conversations about kindness, cooperation and international understanding

Campus Lions clubs enable students to serve their college, university and surrounding community while building valuable leadership and professional skills. Students can organise their own projects, campaign for humanitarian or environmental causes, gain volunteering experience and connect with local and international leaders. Campus clubs also provide a natural pathway for former Leos and other young volunteers to continue serving as Lions while pursuing further education

The Lions Youth Camps and Exchange programme gives young people the opportunity to experience life in another country, often through a stay with a host family followed by time at an international youth camp. Rather than being a conventional holiday, the programme is designed to promote friendship, cultural understanding and goodwill between nations. Participants meet young people from different backgrounds, share their own culture and return home with greater independence, confidence and a broader understanding of the world

Lions Band for Youth brings young musicians together through rehearsals, performance and shared musical experiences supported by Lions. The programme gives participants the chance to improve their musical skills, teamwork, confidence, and discipline while forming friendships with other young people who share their enthusiasm for music. Public performances can also support community events and charitable causes, demonstrating how creativity and service can work together to inspire both performers and audiences
