Childhood Cancer

Our Mission.

Supporting children and families affected by cancer is an important part of Lion's commitment to helping communities during their most difficult moments

Lions clubs around the world support children and families affected by cancer through fundraising, awareness, and practical assistance. Within District 105SW, Lions volunteers work with local communities across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, and Dorset to raise funds for organisations that provide specialist care, treatment, and emotional support for young people facing cancer. Clubs often organise charity events, community fundraising initiatives, and partnerships with hospitals and children’s charities to help ensure families receive the help they need during extremely challenging times. Through these efforts, Lions aim not only to raise vital funds but also to bring hope, comfort, and encouragement to children and their families. As part of the global Lions network, District 105SW contributes to a wider international effort to support childhood cancer research, treatment programmes, and family support services.
