Our Purpose and Ethics

Working Together for the Greater Good
As part of the global lions network, District 105SW combines local knowledge with international strength. While our focus is on communities across South West England, our ethics are shaped by the wider principles of lions worldwide.
Purpose and Ethics.
Lions International exists to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international understanding. Our work is guided by the enduring Lions mottos “We Serve” and “Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion.” These principles reflect our commitment to practical service, compassion, and responding wherever help is needed.
Within District 105SW, our activities are underpinned by strong ethical standards, respect for diversity, and a clear commitment to transparency, safeguarding, and responsible service. Lions serve without personal gain and strive to act with integrity, kindness, and accountability in everything we do.
