The City of Wells Lions Club is enjoying 45 years of service to the community. Since forming in 1975 we have raised more than £170,000 for local and Lions charities, and we organise some of the city’s best-loved events including the annual May Fair and the August Moat Boat Races.
The City of Wells Lions is suited to all people of all ages. We have one business meeting a month, and regular social events too. In fact, we are one of the oldest and most respected voluntary groups in Wells and are proud to be a part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest voluntary service organisation with 1.3 million members in 210 countries.
Purpose: Our purpose is to empower individuals to serve their local communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs.
Like all voluntary groups, we are always looking for individuals to help us carry on our role in the community. With your support, we can do even more amazing things.”
Many people spend a lifetime wondering if they’ve made a difference. Lions don’t have that problem.
We normally meet on the second Monday every month at 7 pm – 8.30 pm at Swan Hotel, Sadler Street, Wells BA5 2RX
Given the circumstances regarding the Coronavirus the Trustees have taken the decision to cancel Lions Meetings in April and in May. Our meeting on 8th June is still in our diary.
