Lions on the Downs Success!

Sunday 2nd June was the day to be at Babbacombe Downs! The Lions Club of Babbacombe and St Marychurch took over an hosted Lions on the Downs 2017. It’s estimated that over 6,000 people attend the event which ran between 10am and 5pm, with stalls opening early due to the readiness of visitors.

Although the club are still working on the official total raised on the day, the club can tell it was a bumper year by the amount of crockery that was used on the day, a staggering 9 crates! in fact by the end of the day there was only one un-smashed plate.

We also need to say a huge thank you the stall holders who were there on the day which included a mini fun fair, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue, Torbay Radio, Saltash Lions Catering Van, Dorothy’s Cakes, Devon Freewheelers, National Coast Watch, Gaz and Kay Entertainment, Punch and Judy Stall, Made by Pixies, Pocket Money Picks, Disabled Sailing, Paignton Lions Club, Silver Circle Jewellery, RSPB, Plant Stand, RAF Association, Birds of Prey, Center Peace, Ellacombe All Stars Children’s Club, Rainbow Living and Cambridge Weight loss.
