Letter from Peace Poster winner

Peace Poster 2007/2008

Dear Fellow Lions

I have received this letter from Bryony Stevens-Young, our Peace Poster winner and also the Multiple District winner, following her visit to the House of Commons for the Lions United Nations Day.

This shows the impact and value of participating in the Peace Poster Competition.

Full details are available from Lion Marcia Cook – contact points are in the MD Directory.

Brenda Wood, District Governor.

Text of message reads:

25th March 2008

Dear Brenda Wood,

I am writing to thank you for making possible, all the amazing experiences I have had through the Lions Peace Poster Competition. My Mum, Dad, Granny and I really enjoyed attending the Lions Convention in Plymouth, where we were welcomed with brilliant warmth and hospitality. My day at the Houses of Parliament in London, with my parents and Lions Ian and Marcia, for the Lions Day with the United Nations was fantastic! It will be a day that I will remember fondly forever. My family and I were so impressed with all the wonderful work that you Lions do all over the world.

When I was designing my poster, I was hoping that I would win the school level, but I never dreamed that I would be an International Merit Winner!

I cannot thank you enough for putting my poster forward to represent the South West region.

Best wishes

Bryony Stevens-Young
